Quick answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, just get in touch.
What's the difference between flash storage and a hard drive?
Flash storage has no moving parts, so it's silent, tougher, faster and uses less power than the original hard drive. In our custom builds, a dual microSD adapter goes inside the iPod. The storage size comes down to the cards fitted.
What storage sizes do you offer?
Our custom builds come in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB.
How long does the battery last?
Our custom builds get a 3000mAh battery upgrade, which lasts much longer than the original battery. Exactly how long depends on how you use your iPod.
Which iPods can you flash mod?
The iPod Video 5th and 5.5 Gen, and the iPod Classic 6th and 7th Gen. A 6th Gen Classic needs our firmware upgrade to use more than 128GB.
Do your iPods have USB-C or Bluetooth?
No. Our iPods don't have USB-C or Bluetooth.
How do I sync music?
Our iPods sync with iTunes, just like the originals.
How long will my order take?
- Custom builds: 1–2 weeks.
- Mail-in repairs: 1–2 weeks from when your iPod arrives.
- In-stock items: dispatched within 1–2 days.
What warranty do I get?
12 months on custom iPods and 90 days on repairs. This is on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
How does the mail-in repair service work?
Repairs are by post only, so there are no drop-offs. Book and pay on our mail-in repair page, then post your iPod to us with your order number. Return postage within Australia is free and tracked.
How should I pack my iPod?
Pack it well so it can't move around in the box. See the packing tips at the bottom of our mail-in repair page.
Can I choose the colours?
Yes. Choose a colour for each part in the colour picker on the custom build page. Rear covers have no storage engraving.
Can I return my order?
You have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. Custom-optioned iPods can only be returned under warranty. See our refund policy for details.
